Criteria for selection of best district Ophthalmic Clubs

General Body Meeting of KSOS held on 24th November 2018 at Kairali Resorts Kannur decided that the following will be the criteria for selection of best district Ophthalmic Clubs:

1. Regularity of monthly scientific meetings (5 points each)
2. CMEs organized by the Club (20 points each), upto a maximum  of 3 nos. To be given only after conducting it regularly for 3 years.
3. Yearly Oration awards/ Lectures instituted by the Club(15 points)
4. PG training organized by Club (15 points each). Upto a maximum of 3 one day programs 
5. CMEs held under the aegis of Ophth clubs by membres (1 point each)
6. Community activities organized directly by Ophthalmic Clubs
a. Eye camps – 10 points each
b. Awareness programmes – 5 points each
c. Regular eye clinic run by Clubs – Total 10 points  (should be conducted at least monthly)
7. Implementation of Presidential projects -10 points each
8. Attendance by District representative in KSOS ECMs – 10 each. No points for leave
9. Observation of days of Ophthalmic importance by the Club directly
a. White Cane Day – 10 points
b. Glaucoma Day – 10 points
c. Eye Donation Fortnight – 10 points
d. World Sight Day – 10 points
10. Proper and regular reporting (at least every quarter or preferably monthly). They have to inform in advance (by 1st ECM) the preferred frequency of reports and will be judged accordingly. No change is allowed in the midst of a KSOS year -5 points each for monthly reports and 10 points each for quarterly.

 Activities of the KSOS year happening between Dec 1st and Oct 31st will be taken for evaluation of the best clubs.
 Any activities organized and conducted by individuals and hospitals are welcome but will not be taken for evaluation except the CMEs under the aegis of Club and KSOS.
 To be considered for the best club they have to be affiliated with the KSOS at least for the preceding two years.
Calicut, Trichur, Ernakulam and Trivandrum will be considered Metro Clubs and the rest Non Metro clubs.
