The 5th KSOS Leadership Development Programme (LDP) 2026 marked another significant milestone in the Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons’ commitment to nurturing future-ready leaders. Conducted on 11th and 12th July 2026 at The Raviz Kadavu, Kozhikode, the two-day residential programme brought together a carefully selected group of young ophthalmologists for an immersive journey in leadership, communication, and professional transformation. The KSOS LDP, launched in 2022, continues to evolve as one of the flagship initiatives of the society, empowering members to lead with purpose, integrity, and vision.
This edition was conceptualized under the leadership of KSOS President Dr. Rajiv Sukumaran and guided by Chief Mentors Dr. Natasha Radhakrishnan & Dr. Ambika Shetty with Dr Bindu S as the Chief organizer & Dr Priyanka Thilak as the co organizer.Their collective efforts ensured a highly engaging and transformative learning experience.
For the first time, the programme partnered with the
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K), bringing renowned management faculty to deliver structured leadership training. Participants benefited from thought-provoking sessions by Prof. Unnikrishnan Nair on behavioural dynamics, organizational design, and institution building,Prof. Anupam Das on communicating with care and clarity and Prof. Deepak S. Kumar on personal branding and professional identity. The curriculum seamlessly blended academic excellence with practical leadership applications, encouraging participants to reflect, collaborate, and grow.
The inaugural function celebrated the vision of KSOS in investing in its future leaders. The programme emphasized that leadership extends beyond clinical excellence, focusing equally on emotional intelligence, strategic influence, effective communication, ethical decision-making, and institution building. Interactive discussions, group activities, and reflective exercises enabled participants to develop confidence, strengthen interpersonal skills, and cultivate a broader perspective on leadership within the ophthalmic community.
As KSOS continues to invest in its emerging leaders, the Leadership Development Programme stands as a testament to the Society’s unwavering commitment to excellence—preparing ophthalmologists not only to excel in clinical practice but also to inspire, influence, and lead the profession into the future.
