Report of Idukki Malanadu Ophthalmic Club from November 2024 to December 2024
- FORESIGHT 2024 – Drishti 2024-pre conference workshop for optometrists, councilors and ophthalmologists
- The pre conference workshop of Drishti 2024- FORESIGHT 2024 Malanadu Academix was conducted by Idukki Malanadu Ophthalmic Club on 24th November 2024 9 am to 1.30 pm at Hotel Kabani Palace Muvattupuzha. Dr Thomas Arun Varghese was the chief course co-ordinator.
- It was a grand success with record number of participation of any CME conducted in Kerala for optometrists.A total of 287 delegates attended the CME with 37 doctors and 250 paramedical staff- optometrists, councillors and opticians.
- The program was inaugurated by Dr Thomas Cherian, President of KSOS, Dr V R Mani, President of IMOC presided over the meeting. As part of KSOS president’s initiative of honoring a senior ophthalmologist from each district club Dr M M Poulose, Mappanikkattu eye hospital, Adimaly was honored in the meeting by Dr Thomas Cherian. The scientific program book of drishti-2024 was released in the meeting.
- The academic program was carefully planned considering the needs and wants of optometrists and paramedical staff in the fast-growing world of ophthalmic technology.

- Keratoconus – Dr. Anil Radhakrishnan
- Special contact lenses – Mr. Mathews G Vadathu
- Selection of lenses and frames – Mr. Kiran Challa
- Recent advances in spectacle lenses – Mrs Raechelle Lobo
- Recent advances in Amblyopia management- Dr. Meena C K
- Ocular prosthesis – Mr. Iby Varghese
DRISHTI 2024
- IMOC was the chief host of Drishti 2024 along with Cochin Ophthalmic club and Kottayam Ophthalmic society.Dr Saju Joseph was the organizing committee chairman and Dr Alex Baby chief organizing secretary. All the members of IMOC worked hard under the able leadership of Dr V R Mani, president IMOC as the local organizing committee co ordinator to make Drishti 2024 a truly memorable 3 days.
